Andrea Zomorodian, a native Seattle soprano, regularly performs throughout the US and abroad. Her work in LA has been focused on concert, oratorio, early music, and studio singing.
Recent solo engagements include: Purcell, King Arthur with Bach Collegium San Diego, Bach Cantatas BWV 166 & 153 at the Whittier Bach Festival, Vivaldi Gloria & Bach Magnificat with the Pacific Chorale & Musica Angelica, Mozart, Coronation Mass, Schubert, Shepherd on the Rock & Zemlinsky, Maiblumen blühten überall for Sunset ChamberFest, Beethoven, Mass in C, Bach ,St. John Passion with Musica Angelica and Pacific Chorale, Handel, Ode for St. Cecilia's Day, Carissimi, Jephte, Haydn, Lord Nelson Mass, Vaughan Williams, Mass in G Minor, Mozart, Requiem and Exsultate, Jubilate, Bach, Magnificat, Handel, Messiah, Brahms, Requiem, Allegri, Miserere Mei, Bach Cantatas, BWV 202, 61, 82a with Bach Collegium San Diego, and Bach, Mass in B Minor.
Recent highlights include: Solo debut (Peri Quartet) in Schumann, Das Paradies with Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Philharmonic, opening the renowned Salzburg Festival 2019 with Lagrime di San Pietro (di Lasso) staged by Peter Sellars, Purcell, King Arthur with Bach Collegium San Diego, and Hildegard von Bingen, program of Hymns & Songs (“sung with blinding luminosity” —Mark Swed, LA Times).
Upcoming engagements include: 2018–2020 world tour of Peter Sellars' production of Lagrime di San Pietro with the LA Master Chorale, and continued touring Hildegard programs with Ensemble Vocatrix.
Ms. Zomorodian graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California and was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to Vienna, Austria.
