An active educator with a Doctorate in Musical Arts in Music Education from the University of Southern California (USC), Dr. M. Anne Rardin has over 25 years of teaching experience spanning three states (NY, TX, and CA). She directs several El Sistema-inspired and public school music programs in the Los Angeles area: the HarmonyProject’s Orchestra Nova Program, LAUSD, and the Harmony Project at Longfellow Elementary, PUSD, as well as the Schurr High School Orchestra, MUSD.
Dr. Rardin has been on the faculties of USC; California State University, Northridge; and Claremont Graduate University (CGU). In addition, she has conducted professional development for many El Sistema-inspired outreach music organizations, such as Harmony Project; LA Philharmonic, Southwest Chamber Music, and Education through Music LA; and public school programs, including LAUSD and MUSD, and CMEA. She was a member of Claremont Graduate University’s Early Music/Historical Performance Practice faculty, teaching Baroque Violin and Viola various semesters.
An active performer as well, Ms. Rardin has been seen performing and recording with the Musica Angelica Baroque Orchestra, Con Gioia, and Concordia Clarimontis, a faculty ensemble at Claremont Graduate University. Other early music credits include Bach Collegium San Diego, the Corona Del Mar Baroque Festival, and recordings on the New Classical Adventure (NCA) label. She has performed with Rachel Podger, Vittorio Ghielmi, Giovanni Antonini, Elizabeth Wallfisch, Rinaldo Alessandrini, and Harry Bicket.
An alumnus of the University of Southern California (USC), where she studied with Eudice Shapiro, Elizabeth Blumenstock and James Tyler; Dr. Rardin completed her Masters of Music Education at Eastman School of Music with Peter Salaff of the Cleveland String Quartet and Louis Bergonzi.
