Ruta Bloomfield is a harpsichordist, scholar, and educator. She earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Historical Performance Practices at Claremont Graduate University in California, and also holds degrees from Northwestern University in Illinois and Bowling Green State University in Ohio. An active recitalist, she has been featured as guest artist at conferences, colleges, and churches. A CD, Music from Versailles, featuring the four suites for harpsichord by Bernard de Bury, as well as a critical edition of this music published by The Edwin Mellen Press, are available at rutabloomfield.com. Dr. Bloomfield has taught at The Master’s College in the Los Angeles area since 1989.
